Change management services

I am able to provide a full range of change management services using a change management approach that is tailored to suit your particular organisation.

The scope might range from handling a particular project or programme from initiation through to completion, or may be limited to a particular element carrying out an analysis or feasibility study, facilitating a series of workshops, or perhaps handling programme management or change communications for an existing change programme. I am also able to assist where an existing change programme is facing difficulties.

Change management consultancy

As a consultant I am able to provide an objective assessment and independent advice spanning the people, process, organisational and technological aspects of change.

I am used to working in complex situations where a high degree of uncertainty exists; indeed it is often beneficial to be involved at this early stage in order to assess the most effective intervention points and change methods. A variety of analysis tools and techniques can be used to identify problems and opportunities, identify potential change actions and evaluate their feasibility and the associated risks. This can then be developed into a business case or project initiation document.

Change management

Once a strategy has been agreed, standard project planning techniques may be used to develop an implementation programme to draw together the technology, process and people-related changes into a logical sequence. Once this is in place, I am able to use my change management skills to drive the change process, typically working together your own managers, staff, suppliers and other stakeholders.

This often involves working across multiple functions, divisions or organisations, and incorporates elements such as training, coaching and communications to overcome resistance and embed the change. To ensure that the benefits of the change are realised, it also involves monitoring the effects of the change process, using the information to adjust the implementation as required.

Change communication

The preparation and management of a communications plan, integrated into the change programme, is an important element of the change management process.

As the change is implemented communications can be used to alert people to the change initiative, outline how they will be affected, and to set expectations and to encourage involvement. At the same time, it is also important that feedback from those affected by the changes is communicated and taken into account as the programme progresses.

Change activities

While not an exhaustive list, the following change activities are among those that I have lead:

  • Clarifying, developing and prioritising strategic objectives

  • Process analysis, design and reengineering
  • Organisational design
